Sell Your Work with Art Reproduction

One of our popular services is Art Reproduction. So what is it?

If you’re an artist and have recently finished an amazing piece that everyone just adores, you don’t have to sell your original. We get it, it’s your pride and joy – so make a duplicate that you can still make use of and sell.

Essentially, Art Reproduction is how you make money from your piece, whilst keeping the original. Through this solution, we have helped many artists digitise their artwork so they are ready to print and sell copies.

We are so anal, that we won’t be happy unless your reproduced artwork is looking so close to the original that even you can’t tell when you first walk in to view the proof.

How our Art Reproduction process works

It’s not simple but requires a high level of skill and attention to detail.

We will either scan or photograph your piece (like a canvas photo print), depending on the type of work it is, and the size. We won’t bore you with the details of the equipment used, but let’s just say it’s not cheap and is complicated. We use highly calibrated monitors that are so close to the printer’s colours that we are able to get that perfect finish.

Our goal is for you to look at your reproduced piece and be blown away!

At NWFAP we do this under one roof. We don’t outsource your artwork and we don’t give it to anyone else to handle. It’s all done here on-premise, and because we are fine art printers too, we can help you with the selection of papers to match the piece as perfectly as possible (and we have a huge selection of media in stock) probably the best in Melbourne.

What you will receive when we reproduce your work:

  • A digitised copy of the high res print file for your records.
  • A digital low res copy you can use for your social media posts
  • An A4 proof on the paper of your choosing (or our recommendation) to show you the colour matching. This will be true to how the image will look every time it’s
  • A USB card with your image on it.
  • A clean-up of the image and photo restoration – dust, scratches and repair of any damage. We will remove your signature too if you request this.
  • A Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

We have no minimum orders, so you can choose to print as required when you sell a piece.

What about limited editions?

Some people are under the misconception that making a print a limited edition will increase its value. That’s sometimes the case, but generally, it’s more about the sales you get out of your artwork. The more popular and known you become the more your work is worth. This, of course, is a personal decision that only you can make. Once you have decided how you want to sell your work, we are here to help you print it!

If you want to target Art Collectors, limited editions are the way to go. Just remember to number each print and the total number of copies to be printed.

Even if you don’t want to sell your artwork, it’s a good practice to have a high-quality capture of the image. You spend weeks or months on a project it’s a good idea to keep even if it’s for your own records or a change of mind

How much can I sell this piece of work?

This is the most asked question.

Unfortunately, there is no price guide. People will pay if they feel it’s worth it to them. Targeting the right audience for your artwork is the key.

How often have you seen something in a store and you thought to yourself “I just need to have that”?

Even after you see the price tag, you still want it – sometimes you want it even more! As artwork is subjective, not everyone feels the same, so here lies the challenge. What someone who falls in love with your piece is willing to pay, compared to someone who just likes it, are two different prices.

So you need to think about your price point. Do you want to capture both or not? Do you want to sell more or less at a higher cost?

Our job is to help you present your work in the best state it can be – so get in touch when you’re ready to start your journey.
